Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)

Director: Ridley Scott
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
A disappointing affair.  Ridley Scott is known for creating characters that etch into your memory forever—Maximus, Ripley, Deckard. Nothing like that in this film. Summing it up:

- Decent special effects
- Dull acting
- Not enough substance justifying the length.

Best part of the film was the kid playing God; perfectly executed the hatred one might feel following 400 years of slavery. Points to expansive sets too.

Charlton Heston’s Moses remains the one to beat. In fact, the animated version “The Prince of Egypt” was definitely much better than this recent take.

  2. I thought it was good, especially the story, it was different from how we were told it was, like the part when Moses(Bale) follows his sheep up to the mountain where his head is hit by a rock and i think that was the reason he starts seeing things(like the kid,God!) and he was not really a saint but a fighter a general a leader who taught others the ways of war so as to wage war against the oppressors of his kin and the part where Moses himself engraved the ten commandment in the two stones so as to keep his people from doing wrong.
The story was more realistic i believe, at least more realistic than to think how a man with a stick on his hand split a sea into two to make path for his followers to reach across to the other shore.
As for acting as you said, dull. One time watch.
